Dr. Hava Perry, Ph.D., CHT, PLRT.

Hypnosis is a very safe, natural state of mind. It is relaxing, enjoyable and cost e!ective. In the state of hypnosis the cognitive mind and the sub-conscious mind communicate with one another in order to bring forth the hidden memories, traumas, false and negative beliefs that need changing and healing.

HISTORY OF HYPNOSIS

The basics of hypnosis go back to ancient times. It is as old as mankind. There were periods of progress and periods of stagnation in the development of modern hypnosis.

Medical interest and acceptance expanded following World War II when the use of hypnotherapy proved especially helpful to surviving battlefield casualties su!ering from shock, injury, battle fatigue, and various psychological disorders. As understanding increased, hypnosis began to be recognized as an important adjunct to counseling psychology, psychotherapy, psychiatry, and also medical fields including neurology, oncology, obstetrics, emergency medicine, burn therapy, pain management and others. It is now "nding increased usage in dentistry and other areas where pain control is important.

All humans (and possibly several animals) have two distinct minds- the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is vastly larger and more powerful than the conscious mind. Yet it is the least understood and used by mankind. Actually, the great “unconscious” mind has two functional elements, the subconscious and the super conscious, the former is the storehouse of memory, the later deals with the spiritual realm.

Hypnosis is a safe natural state of heightened awareness, focused concentration, total relaxation and accelerated learning. It is often considered as an altered state of consciousness featuring “selective perception”. It is a process in which the client – subject (who is in control) chooses to see only what is relevant to his task, blocking out everything else.

Hypnosis involves using guided visualization and deep relaxation. Since every form of hypnosis is self-hypnosis a certi"ed practitioner can provide the recipient with a lifetime of bene"ts by teaching them how to use this state of mind to heal, change and transform. In fact every person spends at least 4 or more hours during wakening time in hypnosis while reading, watching, speaking on the phone, driving and day dreaming.

WHAT
IS
HYPNOSIS

HYPNOSIS
IS
NOT

  • A sleep state

  • A state of unconsciousness

  • There is no surrender of mental powers and control

  • An act of magic, or voodoo

  • New age theory or gimmicks

  • Supernatural

  • All of the above are false beliefs stemming from ignorance and lack of knowledge.

Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy using hypnosis. It helps the client create subconscious changes in the form of new responses, thoughts, feelings, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. It is a highly e!ective science in solving problems. It can be very beneficial in many cases as a therapy in itself. It is a valuable adjunct in psychotherapy and psychiatry. It is probably the lowest risk procedure available from the standpoint of contradictions.

In summation we can say that hypnotherapy is a natural, safe, e!ective and e#cient modality of therapy. While the clients are in hypnosis they can access their subconscious mind, go to the root cause of the problem, remember the event, recall, relive, release and change their perception. Changing their perception allows them to change the reality and heal the past.

The most important benefit using hypnotherapy is that the new awareness that takes place creates positive and permanent changes. Once a client understands and accepts the cause to his/her challenges, beliefs and attitudes and is given new tools to deal with reality they experience a sense of relief and freedom

REGRESSION
THERAPY
IS

Regression therapy or time travel is another very e!ective way to using hypnosis. As we well know most painful events and traumas happened in the past, yet, they continue to live in our minds as if they are just happening now and continue to upset, hurt and disrupt lives.

Going back in time in hypnosis permits the client to move back in time to an earlier stage in their life, to an event that is painful and relative to their problems at the present. Their subconscious mind will pick a time and an experience that needs exploring and healing.

The therapist will guide the client and allow him/her to recall and relive the event from a distance as if it is happening on a screen while they are consciously aware that they are safe and protected. This is a very healing process allowing the client to experience the trauma, release the negative energy, change the perception, and heal the past.

In regression therapy as in all hypnotherapy sessions, psychological tools are being used in order to help bring about new awareness, changes and healing.

Once again understanding what was and knowing it is just a memory encourages the client to move on and create a new reality.

Past life regression therapy is another natural, safe and e!ective modality of therapy using hypnosis. It enables the client to discover and uncover very old deeply rooted patterns and negative beliefs that a!ect his/her life at the present time.

While In hypnosis the client chooses to remember a lifetime that stores in it the reason and story needed for change and growth. What we cannot understand we cannot Change.

This form of therapy has nothing to do with the client’s belief in reincarnation, religion, or personal outlook. It does not even matter if the memories are real or imaginary. All that matters is that healing takes place and change occurs quite rapidly. Every session brings about an amazing sense of relief, understanding, knowledge and the wisdom that is buried deep in the subconscious mind.

Many doctors and psychologists are using this form of therapy to bring about more e!ective ways to help the client heal and grow on his/her spiritual path. Using past life regression therapy has proven to me to be one of the most exciting ways to embark on the journey of the soul and share a lifetime with a client. It is a true privilege.

The gifts the clients receive from their subconscious mind are beyond the conscious comprehension. I honor each and every person I meet and work with and I feel blessed to share the journey with you.

HOW DOES
HYPNOSIS
WORK

The subconscious mind receives and retains, neither accepting nor rejecting, all the messages we receive from our backgrounds, whether genetic, social, religious, or experiential. It also accepts all the daily con$icts that enter our lives. when for whatever reason the conscious mind which deals with (everyday living, logic, etc.) becomes overwhelmed.

The subconscious mind prepares us for what is considered appropriate action (usually fight, flight or freeze response). However the subconscious mind does not analyze, as does the conscious mind, but rather accepts all messages in the literal sense. Hypnosis is a means of communication between the conscious and the subconscious mind.

Many human problems, habits, stresses, anxieties, attitudes, fears & phobias, or apparent deciencies can be traced to interpretations by the subconscious mind which, when these erroneous interpretations are understood by the conscious mind, specific problems can be reduced or resolved.

The subconscious mind is also the seat of all memory. Traumatic events can be buried or suppressed in the subconscious. A major benefit of hypnotherapy is its ability to uncover and bring into the light of understanding the buried information or experience which may be the cause of a troublesome disorder.
